Your media stays intact

Wrangler never transcodes, converts, or changes the contents of your media files. Duplicate filenames are only renamed if you choose that option.

No overwrites, no guessing

If a file already exists where Wrangler wants to move something, it stops and flags it — never silently replaces it.

Warnings when it matters

Wrangler flags things like locked media, spanned clips, duplicate filenames, and camera structures that may need extra care.

Undo even after quitting app

Every run writes a report and undo receipt before anything moves, so you can restore a wrangled card later.

Rollback if something fails

If a file cannot move mid-run, Wrangler stops, puts moved files back, and leaves a plain-English failure log.

Flags potential issues

Wrangler Knows When to Say "Slow Down, Partner."

Locked media. Spanned clips. Cards whose media is already in place. Wrangler finds them, flags them, and tells you exactly what it intends to do about each one. Some are ready to go and you can opt out. Some let you review and opt in. Some won't budge until they're resolved.

Longer AVCHD recordings are often split across segments. Some apps rely on the original folder structure to stitch them. Proceed only if your workflow doesn't depend on it.

This doesn't look like a recognized camera card, but its supported media is already at the top level. Junk files go to the Trash and empty folders are removed. The media itself stays put.

Never deleted, never guessed at

Strays, Not Surprises.

Anything Wrangler does not recognize is not guessed at or deleted. It is set aside in a clearly labeled "Strays" folder so you can still review it, access it, and move it back if needed.

Recognized macOS system junk, meaning .DS_Store files and the hidden AppleDouble files starting with ._, goes to the Trash rather than being permanently deleted, so cleanup stays reversible.
